Pony eating gorse at Gurnetfields Furzebrake, New Forest
Around the periphery of Gurnetfields Furzebrake, and true to the location's name, there are plenty of gorse bushes. These provide the ponies with something to eat during the lean days of late winter/early spring. The pony in this picture has used up most of its fat reserves and looks decidedly bony.
