The heather and bracken vie for dominance on the moorland. However the heather becomes increasingly dominant. While the lower slopes are thickly covered with a mix of broadleaved trees, higher up the birches are restrained to a more shrubby and dispersed growth pattern, and Juniper forms squat mounds.
