NH4824 : Heather and bracken
near to Balbeg, Highland, Great Britain

Heather and bracken
The heather and bracken vie for dominance on the moorland. However the heather becomes increasingly dominant. While the lower slopes are thickly covered with a mix of broadleaved trees, higher up the birches are restrained to a more shrubby and dispersed growth pattern, and Juniper forms squat mounds.
