would seem from the photographs to have lost the sheet piling that was rotating down the slope, pinned at the base, in 1973 BGRG site visit, University of Southampton Coastal Research conference. It it amazing that some of the features are still present and the slope now protected by a mass of landslide at the base is slipping, but not degrading as rapidly. Presumably wave action is less effective in some places due to the slip extension and in others the beach appears to be providing wave break, unless there is a storm and high tide, although obviously the water wash and general gravel, sand and clay cliff erosion is continuing behind the beach front.
