Loch an Tarbeart
Loch an Tarbeart
Tarbeart [Tarbert] is a common name throughout Scotland and conveys and usually means a narrow neck of land between two Lochs, meaning a place where the Vikings could drag their long boats from one sea loch to another. In this instance it would appear to relate to the actual narrows within the Loch.
