NT3361 : Gore Glen weir
near to Arniston, Midlothian, Great Britain

Gore Glen weir
The weir was built to provide hydro-electric power to the Arniston Estate from its own generating station. During the miners' strike in 1973, while power-cuts plunged the nearby town of Gorebridge into darkness, the lights of Arniston House remained on.
