SH6112 : Beach at Fairbourne
near to Fairbourne, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Beach at Fairbourne
The village of Fairbourne is located on an alluvial plain at the mouth of the Mawddach estuary. It has a three kilometre long sandy beach facing Cardigan Bay and more sand and dunes facing the estuary. This is the view of Fairbourne and, in the distance on the left, Abermaw/Barmouth on the other side of the Afon Mawddach, from the Cambrian Coast railway line as it climbs off the cliffs down into the estuary. A line of World War II concrete anti-tank barriers can be seen along the beach.
