SH6214 : Rocky island in the saltmarsh at Morfa Mawddach
near to Fairbourne, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Rocky island in the saltmarsh at Morfa Mawddach
One of a number of rounded rocky lumps on the south side of the Mawddach estuary. The shape and location suggests that these are rocks that have been deposited and shaped by an ice-age glacier flowing down the wide estuary. The houses in the background are part of Fairbourne, located on the beach at the mouth of the estuary. Picture taken from Morfa Mawddach station on the Cambrian Coast line.
