Plugged drainage ditch in Howen Bottom, New Forest
A view up Howen Bottom, towards the ford. This bare strip of earth marks the course of the badly eroded drainage ditch which has been recently plugged as part of works to restore the original meandering stream (to the left of the plugged ditch). Compare with SU2315 : Stream running from Howen Bottom into Eyeworth Pond, an older photo of the stream (from a little further down the valley towards Eyeworth Pond).
