Powder Mill Road, New Forest
The gravelled track is Powder Mill Road, which leads from Eyeworth Pond to the B3078 road west of Long Cross. It was originally used as a way of transporting the finished product away from the Shultze gunpowder factory without passing through the nearby village of Fritham. It is now one of the 'off road cycle routes' in the New Forest.
Here the track bends to the right - straight ahead beyond the tree trunks is the head of Howen Bottom and the B3078 road.
