Harvey's Lane
Linking The Broyle, the B2192 with Harvey's Gate, a former entrance to the medieval deer park that once existed here. From the 1500s although the land gained new owners much of it retained common rights despite period attempts to remove them until 1767 when the former park was enclosed. The highways that once threaded there way through the park were then straightened and retain the look they gained on the day somebody drew a straight line with a ruler to mark their course. Green Lane on the left is equally straight up to the western edge of the former park.
