SN0435 : Squirrels' dining area
taken 15 years ago, near to Pontfaen, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Wales
Squirrels' dining area
Grey squirrels raid the hazels while the nuts are still immature: this allowed them to gain ascendancy over the native reds who wait until the nuts are fully ripe.
Hazels make up part of the mixed woodland found at Sychpant (the spelling now used for the SSSI although the alternative, Sychbant, is found on the OS maps.)
