The Wherryman's Way to Hardley Staithe, taken 8 years ago
The Wherryman's Way runs along the elevated bank which separates the River Yare (at right) from the marsh pastures on the other side. A drain runs along the river at the foot of the bank.

The Wherryman's Way > LinkExternal link is a 35-mile long distance footpath following the route of the Broads trading wherries between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. The route takes its name from the wherry a large cargo-carrying barge whose black sails used to be a common sight on these waters. Ten circular village walks branch off this path along the way.
