Hardwick Old Hall: the ovens in the pastry
The ground floor of the west wing of Hardwick Old Hall houses the kitchen complex including a large "pastry" for the preparation and cooking of bread and other baked food. The two largest ovens can be seen here with the fire boxes underneath. There are two smaller ovens in the corners accessed from the side walls of this large hearth which backs onto the main fireplace in the kitchen.
