Tayvallich
The name 'Tayvallich' is Gaelic from 'tigh' meaning 'house' and 'bealach' meaning 'pass', so it is 'the house of the pass'. It is a popular destination for holidaymakers, including yacht sailors and geologists who come to study the volcanic rocks named after the village. There is a very informative local web site at LinkExternal link.
