Haldon Belvedere
Haldon Belvedere
Also known as Lawrence Castle, and built in 1788 by Sir Robert Palk to commemorate General Stringer Lawrence. The triangular tower is a major landmark in South Devon, visible for miles (eg SX8181 : North-east of Shaptor and SY1296 : Raxhayes Farm from Westgate Hill ), and more visible since being restored and painted some years ago. View from the east.
