Abbotstanding Wood, Beaulieu Estate
Abbotstanding Wood, Beaulieu Estate
Abbotstanding Wood is part of the Beaulieu Estate and not open to the public - this view is over the fence from neighbouring Stubbs Wood. The wood's name is supposed to derive from the fact that in the past this was the abbot's favoured deer hunting area. These days it is similar in character to the oak inclosures of the adjacent New Forest.
