TF6437 : A series of tubes

3 km from Heacham, Norfolk, Great Britain

A series of tubes
A series of tubes
There are lots of clusters of tubes like this on this part of the sand. Each cluster seems to be a colony of peacock worms (Sabella). When the tide comes in, each worm will extend a fan of tentacles from its tube to extract food from the water.
