SP9209 : The corn has been cut and the straw baled at Hastoe
near to Hastoe, Hertfordshire, Great Britain

The corn has been cut and the straw baled at Hastoe
Some years ago much of the straw left in the fields after harvest was burnt off – bit this is no longer permitted and most is collected up in large drum-shaped bales. In this field an old-fashioned baler has been used which compresses the straw into rectangular blocks. The road cutting across the picture if the one from Tring to Cholesbury and the wood in the distance is the south end of Tring Park.
