The Sportsman, Graveney Marsh
The Sportsman, Graveney Marsh
The only proper building in sight is the Sportsman, a pub with an excellent reputation for food. In the days before all day opening we used to visit sometimes on a Sunday lunchtime because children were tolerated and the session ended with several rousing choruses of Land of Hope and Glory from both customers (armed with the provided union jacks) and staff (dressed in tin helmets). It's not like that now but is still worth a visit and gives welcome shelter from the wind off the estuary, nestling, as it does, below the sea wall at the point where the Faversham Road, which has hugged the coast since leaving Seasalter, turns south to Graveney.
