Unfortunately Not a Footpath

It wasn’t until I found myself trapped by a stream on two sides that I realised the footpath runs to the north of the stream. There had been a track here once judging by the hidden wheel ruts I kept tripping up on! When I did an about turn I discovered a sign saying “no entry no footpath”. Humm why couldn’t the farmer have put a handy way-mark at the other end of the path? the field at the other end had been ploughed up to obliterate any sign of a right of way.
