This is the gateway to Thorrington Scout Camp LinkExternal link it has been a scout camp for over seventy years. It consists of about 27 acres of mixed woodland. To the west of the public footpath down to Tenpenny Brook there are mainly sweet chestnuts managed by coppicing in rotation. To the west of the footpath there is mixed hardwood. Small and troop sized campsites are available. A typical small pitch can be seen at TM0820 : Hill Site.
