The Middleway at Gravelly Bank Copse, Middleton
The Middleway is a minor road that descends from Andover Down to the settlement of Middleton near Longparish in the Test Valley. On the right is the arable land of Middleton Farm (freely draining chalk soil) and on the left the trees of Gravelly Bank Copse. The copses in this area are remnants of Harewood Forest, which was a royal hunting forest from late Saxon times.
