Donkeys eating bark in Ashurst Wood, New Forest
Donkeys eating bark in Ashurst Wood, New Forest
These donkeys are eating the bark off wood that has been deliberately cut for the purpose of providing browse for the large herbivores that haunt the wood. The pollarded stump can be seen behind the leftmost donkey. During early spring there is little else to eat.
