Half Acre Lane
Half Acre Lane
The Northern end of Half Acre Lane, Whitson where it joins the Redwick Road. Although now sadly a target for fly-tippers, this lane was an important droving route for many centuries, taking its dog-leg shape from medieval land ownership patterns and rine (drainage ditch) courses. It has a large open area of approximately half an acre near its middle where sheep could be counted and parted.
