The remains of Balloch township
The remains of Balloch township
The RCAHMS database LinkExternal link describes these as the footings of an enclosed depopulated township, named Balloch in an upland glen comprising about 46 buildings, 8 small enclosures and 2 corn-drying kilns. Reason and date of depopulation is not known but it was probably due to the introduction of sheep in the early 19th century.
