Stream entering Tràigh Ear
Stream entering Tràigh Ear
Although not apparent from this image, this stream is quite deep and although there is a ford, it forms an effective barrier between the car park and the beach. Fortunately there is a bridge which offers an alternative route to the beach and this image is taken from that bridge. "Ear" is Gaelic for east and the Tràigh Ear is the beach on the east side of a long peninsula of sand dunes on the north coast of North Uist. The mountain in the background is Beinn Mḥr NF8976.
