NN3947 : Gorton Crossing

Gorton Crossing
Gorton Crossing
Site of a very remote railway station. A crossing point is provided to allow trains to pass on the single track West Highland Railway. There was also once a platform here and a request halt. Sadly British Rail knocked it off the timetable and destroyed the platform, not much hope of Worst Scotrail ever reinstating it. Gorton used to be the start of the normal route up Beinn a' Chreachain. The picture was taken from that route above Bad na Gualainn.
