Morecambe was the first lifeboat station to use a hovercraft.
The new hovercraft station houses The Hurley Flyer.
The inshore lifeboat remains at the lifeboat station about 1000m to the east.
The area in front of the station, which used to be the Marineland dolphinarium, has now been tidied up and turfed.
