View down Fort Hill to Margate Beach
Fort Hill climbs steeply up the headland after it passes alongside Margate Beach and becomes a short dual carriageway, giving this excellent vantage point of Margate Beach. This is the proposed site for the new Turner art gallery, which is probably why the road is being upgraded (you can see all the roadworks happening just to the left). You can also just about see that the lamp posts on the opposite carriageway are being replaced with new ones as part of the project. View taken looking southwest. The cannons in TR3571 : Cannon on Thanet Coastal Path near Margate are just to the right of this image.
