Bevern Stream
Bevern Stream
A tributary of the River Ouse that rises south of Ditchling Common then runs eastwards joining the river near Barcombe Mills. After the summer the stream has low water levels allowing a stroll along the mostly dry bed. Wealden streams tend to be at their most powerful in the winter where the fast flowing water is able to gouge its way easily through the clay soil as can be seen by the bank on the right.
