Ffordd newydd Rhiw - New Rhiw road

In December 2000, following heavy rain, a serious landslip closed the road from Mynytho to Aberdaron via Rhiw. A protracted series of objections delayed the rebuilding of the road through the woodland of Plas yn Rhiw, forcing the villagers of Rhiw to take a long detour to reach Pwllheli and eastwards. The new road was finally opened after almost six years on 12 September 2006.
