Pony grazing on the plateau, Coopers Hill, New Forest
This plateau is a gravel cap on top of the ridge that starts at Bramshaw Telegraph and extends SW, eventually becoming Hampton Ridge. These ponies are grazing the humid heath, others were nearby in the gorse brakes. The conifers in the distance are in the western part of the Islands Thorns Inclosure on the slopes of Crock Hill - so called because it once was the site of a Romano-British pottery industry.
