ST2164 : The Farmhouse

taken 15 years ago, 5 km SE of Lavernock, The Vale of Glamorgan/Bro Morgannwg, Wales

The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse
Until quite recently, a working farmhouse on Flatholm.

Today, this is used as the accommodation for island visitors who can range from scientists, to fisherfolk, to families taking a break on the island.

The island relies on sustainable power and the solar panels that can be seen are used for electricity and also heating water.

The town of Barry can be seen across the Bristol Channel in the background.
