At this time, the Fingringhoe Wick Visitor Centre LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) was also the headquarters of the Essex Wildlife Trust LinkExternal link as well as being a visitor centre. The centre lies within the Fingringhoe Wick reserve, famous for its Nightingales on a May evening.

As the Trust HQ, the centre hosted many Trust meetings such as TM0419 : Inside the Fingringhoe Centre.
