Dredging the Burn

Just downstream from NJ3458 : Burn of Fochabers a digger is removing the banks of sand, gravel and cobbles and rebuilding the nearer side of the stream bed. I was, however, a little concerned to hear that it is not intended to dredge the whole length of the burn as far up as the Charlotte Street bridge. Another spate could easily overflow from the raised level of the bed of the burn, though it would probably not be quite as damaging as the last one.
