near to Caher, Creduff, Saliahoona and Loughaunbeg, Galway, Ireland

An Tra Mhor
The popular, blue-flag bathing beach by the main car park is flanked by further beaches running down between rocky outcrops. White sand is a characteristic of beaches developed on granite outcrop because it liberates particularly pure, transparent grains of quartz during weathering. This view takes in upper Galway Bay and the coastal mountains of County Clare.
