Sundew by the banks of Allt Lair
Sundew by the banks of Allt Lair
A carnivorous plant which likes wet boggy ground. It supplements its diet by catching and digesting insects - the Scottish midge usually! It has sweet attractive sticky treacle-like drops at the end of each tendril. Supposedly has medicinal properties. Common in the Highlands and is here in the SAC Special Area of Conservation.
