Red Scaur
Red Scaur
Typical Lammermuir gullying on the west side of Lammer Law. The heather is burnt in patches here rather than strips. First an enclosure is mown as a fire break and then the heather is burnt inside. The grouse have always got easy access to cover when feeding on the green shoots. This is getting close to the western edge of the big moorland area in the Lammermuir Hills, to the west is mostly wind turbines, improved grazing and forestry.
