The path looking ahead over the Lairig an Laoigh (Pass of the calves - supposedly easier for calves than the Lairig Ghru)leads eventually to Braemar. A major undertaking in any weather, a distance of 30 rugged mountain miles from Aviemore. The left fork continues for 7 miles via Rynettin and Forest Lodge to Nethy Bridge whilst bottom right, off picture, the path leads to public roads and Aviemore around 8 miles distant.
