Coldwaltham: Arun Valley railway line
Coldwaltham: Arun Valley railway line
Looking in the direction of Arundel from the Brook Lane bridge the track passes through the Waltham Brooks Nature Reserve on either side here. The line was opened in 1863 by the London Brighton & South Coast Railway as their Mid-Sussex Junction Railway. A plate on the bridge tells us this point is at 51 miles and 76 chains from, presumably, London Victoria station.
