This is the Memorial to Edward Dampier who died in 1774 and some of his family. It states "... a Lineal Descendent of a Count from the Province of Burgundy French Flanders...". He lived in Corfe Castle but also acquired "the site of the manor of Barton" near New Milton in Hampshire in 1771 from John Le Marchant of Guernsey.
