Aqueduct in the woods
Aqueduct in the woods
An aqueduct in Swartha Woods built by Bradford Corporation Water Works in 1858 to carry water to Bradford from reservoirs on Barden Moor.

It is a Grade II listed structure and the listing says "Rock-faced stone and ashlar. 3 segmental-arches on tall piers with cavetto moulded imposts, margin-dressed rock-faced voussoirs aligned to the courses, punched-dressed intrados. Hollow-chamfered band and coping to ashlar parapet. Dressed abutments surmounted by cast-iron railings, the bars with spearhead finials."

But you knew that anyway.
