Raising Tower Bridge (8)
Raising Tower Bridge (8)
We were lucky to see Tower Bridge being raised for the downstream passage of two Thames sailing barges. This picture was taken from the top of The Monument. It shows the bascules half lowered after the barges have passed through. Although the tourist boat cheekily nipped through as well, they are low enough to go under the bridge in its down position. To start the sequence again see TQ3380 : Raising Tower Bridge (1)
