Drover's road at Nant-y-Stalwyn, Cwm Tywi, Powys
This narrow and heavily rutted road is a former drover's route between Pontrhydfendigaid and Abergwesyn via Strata Florida and the Tywi bridge 200 metres from here, where it joins the more renowned drover's road from Tregaron. This byway (supposedly "open to all traffic") crosses several fords which can be very dangerous after heavy rain. I do not recommend taking a standard drive car on this route at all; 4WD vehicles have to take care. It is an established off-roader's route and convoys of vehicles regularly crawl along the rough track, where there are very few available passing places.
