On the left the Afon Tywi can just be seen flowing towards the camera. In the foreground, Maesnant is flowing into the Tywi across the former drover's road, now a byway and established off-roader's route. Yes, that IS the road to the right of the river. Today conditions are benign, no rain having fallen for about two weeks. It is dangerous after heavy rain, a fatality occurring in September 2008 just fifty metres ahead of this ford, where the road crosses the Tywi.
