TQ0418 : River Arun: Pulborough Bridge

taken 8 years ago, near to Pulborough, West Sussex, Great Britain

River Arun: Pulborough Bridge
River Arun: Pulborough Bridge
Although the bridge is not ancient, dating from 1787, it is in the location where the Roman road of Stane Street crossed the River Arun. It is not usable by motor traffic anymore, having been replaced by TQ0418 : River Arun: A29 Swan Bridge at Pulborough from which this photograph was taken. The Arun is still tidal at this point.
