Swavesey guided bus stop
Swavesey guided bus stop
Formerly the site of Swavesey station, closed in 1970, this is now destined to become a stop on Cambridgeshire's hugely controversial guided busway between Cambridge and St Ives. Campaigners against the scheme have claimed that it would have cost 50 million to reinstate the railway against 116 million that the busway is costing. How effective the busway will prove in reducing congestion on the A14 remains to be seen.
