The tree on the right is a European Larch (Larix Decidua).
The plaque at its base reads: "National Trust for Scotland Diamond Jubilee 1st November 1990. To mark the beginning of a project to plant 100,000 trees throughout Scotland for the pleasure of future generations, His Grace the Duke of Atholl planted this tree in the presence of Mr R.C. Tyrrell, Chairman of Council and other distinguished guests"
