The centre of this picture is Weardale Crescent. In the foreground are Coronation Avenue, Attwood Place and a field currently used for grazing horses.

Weardale Crescent & Coronation Avenue date from c. 1938. Attwood Place dates from c. 1844. Attwood Place is named after Charles Attwood who invested a great deal in the fledgling Tow Law. Attwood's investments backers were the Baring Brothers, Merchant Bankers of London.
