TQ3515 : West Field

taken 8 years ago, near to Streat, East Sussex, Great Britain

West Field
West Field
The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map though it has now been enlarged to become a pasture field bounded by Ashurst Lane in the north, an unnamed stream to the south, the Streat-Plumpton parish boundary in the west and Ashurst Farm in the east. The bushes dotting this enlarged field are remnants of older field boundaries. The scarp slope of the South Downs forms the backdrop with Streat Hill towards the centre and Ditchling Beacon on the right.
